Book Review: See You in The Cosmos

I just bought this book recently and I just love the cover. The fact that it has kids and stars above, making the book seems like an interesting indulgence for my evening.
Basically, this book tells a journey about a kid who loves astronomy and Carl Sagan so much and his journey to Voyager Spacecraft where he wants to launch his golden Ipod. Together with his friends, he went to Colorado, New Mexico, Las Vegas to L.A and he always record his journey on the ipod and every chapter of the book represent every records of his Ipod. In this journey, I find myself going back to the innocence of Alex in trying to realize his big dream, together with his friends who looks supportive. The writing style of this book is very easy to read and it fits the childlike narrator, hence I recommend this for the people who likes light reading. However, I realise that this book is supposed to be filled with warmth which I couldn't felt. At some point, I was quite bored and told myself to keep on going for reading this. Though, it has a nice lesson from the book, I think it lack of uniqueness and personal touch within the book. The characters are not really relatable for me, which is why I have a hard time in trying to grasp the emotion and feeling poured into the book. Overall, it's an easy going book to read and I'm still impressed with the author for this is the first book he has ever written. It's not that bad and not that good too.
